Integration

Integrated eContracting
Real-time integration between the Dealership Selling System and a Provider's Internal System (Portal) enabling eRating and Contract Booking (aftermarket eContracting).
eRating
Electronic access to Product eligibility, coverage and pricing based on dealership, vehicle and consumer variables. This is a 2 way exchange based on input from the Dealer (VIN, Options not specified in the VIN).
eContracting (contract booking)
Real-time forms preparation and registration to complete a customer sale. PEN transmits data from the Dealer System to the Provider. Provider publishes the consumer agreement and return to the Dealer System thru PEN.
Provider managed, dealer facing software used to manage the sale and administration of aftermarket products. This software is most commonly a secondary application from their primary Dealer System. Integrated eContracting
Dealer Onboarding
System and business procedures to ensure a Dealer successfully registers and uses Integrated eContracting to sell Products through their PEN enabled Dealer System. The process consists of planning, implementing, and follow-up by Providers and Agents.
Dealer Product Registration
A required process for a Dealer to use Integration to sell products within their chosen Software System. This process should include the Dealer and their Sofware System Support Team and requires the Dealer Code the Provider assigns their Dealer.

Dealer Setup Notification
A "DSN” is a PEN communication informing Providers when a Dealer registers your product(s) in their PEN integrated System. DSNs serve as an opportunity for Providers to confirm accuracy of registration information and internally engage their Agent to follow up with the Dealer.
Dealer Code Request (DCR)
A PEN communication sent to Providers on behalf of a Dealer System. (formerly known as a RFA).
The purpose of a DCR is to proactively coordinate the Dealer System Setup team and the Provider prior to a Dealer “Goes Live" to ensure Integrated eContracting is working at time of launch.

PEN Resource Center
Site for Providers and Agents that covers all things related to Integrated eContracting through PEN. Offering education and guidance through the use of tools, resource materials, videos, guides, and more. The purpose of the RC is to help Providers and Agents to empower their Dealers. (Not a Dealer-facing site)
PEN Empowerment
Awareness and understanding of Integration through PEN, and Integrated eContracting as a whole. Knowledge + Best Practices = EMPOWERMENT Empowered organizations and people are able to independently coach dealers to successfully use Integrated eContracting.
Provider Profile
A document published by PEN which captures essential Provider procedures, terminology, and other details. It is shared with Dealer System Providers as a reference tool to ensure Dealers get products setup correctly for Integrated eContracting.
Dealer System (Software Vendor)
Software used by Dealership personnel to facilitate business transactions. This is an encompassing term used to describe all software applications including Menu Selling, F&I Desking and other functions where Provider product sales may be processed.
F&I Menu System
A software, and process, to support the active promotion of automotive aftermarket products using a structured process. Menus are considered the most effective software tool for a dealership to manage the Aftermarket selling process.
Dealer Specialty System
A system used within the Dealership, but outside of the traditional F&I process, such as stand alone product selling. Examples include service lane applications, payment option systems, and more.

Direct Marketing System
Sales channels that leverage 3rd party marketing services direct to individual consumers. Using delivery methods such as Mail, email, and texting, organizations reach out to potential customers on behalf of Dealers, Agents, and/or Providers.
Digital Retailing System
A technology solution that allows consumers to have a retail experience on a dealer's website, or a separate website, whether on a computer, tablet, or phone. Most of these systems are focused on vehicle selling, some are specifically intended to sell products
